Artwork Proposal
The 2 Mural locations on the DJ Booth wall give an exciting opportunity to create something very unique. Very unique as a piece of artwork, and very unique for Buffalo Bills Stadium. I am submitting a proposal for both artworks on the Field Club DJ Booth wall.
Many painting styles throughout history blend into each other, and I don’t see the style of Graffiti existing only as tags. In my eyes Graffiti art blends into the same space as Abstract Art, Abstract Expressionism and Typographic Design. And it is with those three categories along with Graffiti that I see these 2 artworks being painted to make the Field Club into something very special. Making it successful for now and for many years to come.

I have developed two 11’6”x10’6” Typographic Graffiti artworks that are built off of the letters in “The Buffalo Bills” as the foundation. The building process for each of these started in a traditional space of fitting the words on the “canvas”. From there I broke out the letters and scaled and overlapped, with the ultimate goal of having the essence of Graffiti art. The next objective in creating these two artworks was conveying a sense of movement and sound. Even when music is not playing in the room, and you are staring into the artworks or catching a glimpse out of the corner of your eye, your brain will make you think the elements are slightly moving on the canvas. To tie the two 11’6”x10’6” artworks together visually, there are several elements carried through on both pieces. As a direct connection to the DJ Booth and music, the dot over the letter i in each artwork is meant to resemble a vinyl record. Both have the Buffalo Bills logo jumping into the scene in the bottom left corner, and a small Field Goal and Football in the bottom right. The large arcing shape from corner to corner in each is the silhouette of a football. And letters from each piece extend onto the frame area on the top right.
Working on these proposals was a joy, and a learning experience. My love of art and the creation process is deeply embedded in Painting. In the creation/development process for these two Typographic Graffiti Proposals, they were created in Adobe Illustrator. So these two artworks could either be printed Murals, or used as a fully developed concept to then be created as Paintings. If given the chance to create these proposals, I would work on them from the perspective that they will be seen by people from many different backgrounds and generations, and hopefully in the Buffalo Bills Highmark Stadium for many years to come.
